The Texas Mead & Music Festival debuts in North Texas on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 17 p.m. (VIP entry at noon) at Scarborough Village, 2511 FM 66, Waxahachie. Sample handcrafted meads from Texas meaderies, enjoy live Texas music, artisan vendors, seasonal food and beverages, and preview Scarborough's Hollow, including the Blackthorn Haunted Castle and other fall attractions. General admission starts at $38.50 for adults (21+) and $11 for ages 520; VIP tickets start at $55. A portion of proceeds benefits the Texas Mead Association. Mixology Mondays classes are hosted weekly at The Parlor, inside Sheraton Dallas, from 5-6pm. The cocktail featured varies weekly and reservations are required. The cost is $30/per person which does not include tax and gratuity. The interactive mixology classes are led by the hotels talented Mixologist, Adam, who has explored more than 43 countries and worked at luxury properties and bars across the world. Guests can have fun mixing a cocktail and then enjoy the delicious creation. Reservations are required.

Little farmers can dress in their cowboy and cowgirl best for Rodeo on the Farm at Heritage Farmstead Museum. Children can run the barrels, rope a hay bale steer, watch a sheep roundup, meet the farm animals, listen to a story and make a rodeo craft.

Designed for preschoolers and their grown-ups, Little Farmer Friday is most appropriate for children ages 2 to 5. Activities run from 10 a.m. to noon, and the farm grounds remain open until 2 p.m. Families are welcome to bring lunch or a snack to enjoy on the farm.

Tickets start at $6.77, including fees, and infants 12 months and younger are free. Museum members at the Family level or higher receive one free adult ticket with the purchase of a childs ticket. Events often sell out, so purchasing tickets in advance is recommended.
